E.T. is an extraterrestrial “animal” from a planet that is more than three million light years away. He is light brown in color and is roughly the size of a 7-year old child. His oversized head is attached to a long neck that is able to extend.

E.T. spends most of his time here at the zoo trying to find a way to phone home. Although he is confined to Area 51 here at our zoo, he continuously wanders around his quarters and looks out to see what lies beyond his boundaries that may be of use to him in his efforts to contact his home planet. He tends to wear his emotions on his sleeve and reacts to the view outside his zoo environment. Why the ghost costume? Well, E.T. feels most secure when he is in disguise. His threat level is lowered and he claims to reminisce about a time when Elliott took him Trick-or-Treating a few years back.

One of E.T.’s greatest passions is his dual-natured love for beer and his home planet. He combined both of these fervors in a campaign he participated in with Coors. The cool $1.5 million he made for his efforts were used to purchase equipment to further his trials of creating a phone that could reach 3 million light years away. Although he has not been successful, many have reaped the benefits of his research with their use of such items as the iPhone.
